(FiveNation.com)- President Biden stated he had “no regrets” about keeping the public in the dark about the discovery of top-secret records at his previous workplace. Biden sees nothing wrong with his lack of transparency before the mid-term elections.
“You know, what quite frankly bugs me is that we have a serious problem here we’re talking about. We’re talking about what’s going on. And the American people don’t quite understand why you don’t ask me questions about that,” Biden declared.
Biden’s White House attorney Richard Sauber said, “We are confident that a thorough review will show that these documents were inadvertently misplaced, and the president and his lawyers acted promptly upon discovery of this mistake.”
It was January 19 when Biden dropped the “no regrets” remark during a news conference in Aptos, California, where he evaluated the damage inflicted by severe storms that had just struck the area.
Reporters kept asking the Democrat about the finding of secret papers and government archives at his previous workplace in Washington and his Delaware home. When questioned about his remorse over the confidential documents, that’s when Biden once lost his cool.
He continued outlining the administration’s activities after learning about the secret papers. He said he had no remorse about his decision to withhold knowledge of their existence from the public in November, before the midterm elections.
In interviews with media outlets, Biden has repeatedly said that he takes the security of top-secret information “very seriously” and that he and his staff have been working with the DOJ and National Archives since the classified papers were initially found before the 2022 midterm elections.
Republicans are furious about the timing of the discovery and the administration of President Joe Biden’s delayed disclosure of the documents, and many have criticized the president for the hypocrisy of criticizing former President Donald Trump, who is currently being investigated for mishandling documents and other offenses after hundreds of pages of classified documents were discovered during an FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Because Biden’s classified documents were found in an unsecured garage next to his Corvette, the “unfriendly” media has dubbed his scandal “Car-a-Lago.”
