DeSantis Makes Bold Promise Against ‘Deep State’

As the 2024 presidential race continues to heat up, Florida Governor and GOP hopeful Ron DeSantis said that on day one he is ready to start “slitting throats” when it comes to the deep state, according to The Hill. The deep state is that term to describe the shadowy bureaucracy and elitist government exerting influence in the republic.

DeSantis’ promise to slice the throat of that bloated belly came during a barbecue in Rye, New Hampshire. The event was hosted by former Republican Senator Scott Brown.

This is not the first time the governor used the imagery of slitting throats to convey his message. During an interview with Real America’s Voice, DeSantis said that should he be elected as president he will ensure that the secretary of defense is not wedded to the hierarchy. He noted that the person appointed to that position will have to be a lot stronger than those that preceded him. He also mentioned the importance of “professional distance,” suggesting that personal relationships within the Pentagon cloud judgment.

DeSantis also made it clear that he would root out the wokeness of the military, which has been infected with diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, along with critical race theory and transgenderism. Last year, American Pigeon reported that children of service members are being exposed to DEI curriculum, which is being bankrolled by taxpayer money totaling around $3 billion.

The military is currently experiencing a recruitment issue. In response, the military is reportedly lowering standards but still missed its goal of 60,000 new soldiers in 2022. One journalist suggests that those most likely to join the military are not doing so because of the increasing politicization, which is more to the left. In addition, as the U.S. focuses on foreign countries rather than strengthening its military, many are not feeling patriotic.
