Manhunt Underway For Mass Shooter, With Reward Issued

Authorities in Baltimore have released fresh information on a shooting that occurred at a block party early on Sunday morning, 36 hours after the shooting that murdered two people and wounded 28 others there.

At a news conference held on Monday, Maryland authorities urged residents of the Brooklyn Homes area to come forth if they had any knowledge about the deadly attack that took place there and revealed some resources available to them.

Acting Baltimore City Police Commissioner Richard Worley said that investigators were conducting witness interviews and analyzing surveillance footage from the “Brooklyn Day” event, which was attended by hundreds, according to authorities.

Investigators found many firearms and shell casings, according to Worley. The police chief said that everyone who attended the block party with firearms was a suspect at this time. This includes the young man who was purportedly seen on video footage getting a semi-automatic pistol out of a bag.

At this point, neither the motivation nor any suspect identification has been made public, but Worley has said that his agency will be doing so in order to assist detectives in locating the people they need to interrogate.

On Monday, a “Metro Crime Stoppers” banner announced a reward of up to $28,000 for information leading to arrests and prosecutions with the help of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) and the FBI.

According to Worley, 15 of the injured victims were around ages 13 and 17. He added that the ages of the other 13 wounded people ranged from 18 to 32.  Monday’s reports showed that four of the seven victims who were hospitalized are in serious condition.

According to the DC Metropolitan Police Department, crime has gone up since 2022.
