James Carvile Says Trump Has Blindsided Ron DeSantis

(FiveNation.com)- James Carville, a prominent Democratic strategist, commented on the growing tensions between ex-President Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Trump is seeking the Republican nominee for president in 2024, and DeSantis is widely seen as a potential rival. With Trump’s endorsement of DeSantis for governor in 2018, the former president has criticized him for not ruling out a bid.

The former president’s popularity has risen in the polls, but DeSantis has disregarded chiefly Trump’s attacks. If DeSantis enters the race, he must challenge his party’s de facto leader.

Host Ari Melber said to Carville that it seemed to him like Carville wasn’t convinced that DeSantis was as good as he’d been made up to be because he hadn’t seen him in national settings, long-form interviews, or debates.

Melber said that in the Make America Great Again (MAGA) community, DeSantis is being criticized for what they see as a lack of loyalty to the guy who they claim propelled him into the national limelight in 2018. Representatives House.

Carville used a quotation from former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson to highlight DeSantis’ predicament.

He said Mike Tyson was right on the money about what he said, and it applies to DeSantis. A man always thinks he has a plan until he gets punched in the mouth. He can’t decide whether to scratch his watch or wind his buttocks.

Carville said DeSantis attempted to play in a league where he does not belong.

He said Trump punched him in the mouth and completely lost his bearings after that.

Simply put, he went completely off-key.

Carville tipped his cap to Iron Mike.

In response, host Ari Melber played down his guest’s reaction and said that

MAGA supporters, who claim to have been responsible for DeSantis’ rise to prominence in 2018, have now been critical of the politician.
