Trump’s Lawyer Says Government Is Trying To Block Trump From Running

(FiveNation.com)- In a recent interview, one of former President Donald Trump’s attorneys claimed that the Justice Department was trying to bully Trump out of running for office again in 2024.

Alina Habba, who represented Donald Trump in his lawsuit against New York Attorney General Letitia James, appeared on “Eric Bolling: The Balance” on Newsmax last week where she said the former president has been treated unfairly and suggested that the various criminal and civil investigations into Trump are meant to hinder his hope of running again in 2024.

Bolling and Habba discussed the possibility that the Justice Department might be using the federal investigation into the documents found at Mar-a-Lago as a way to “deter” Trump from running again.

Habba said Trump is energized by his treatment, adding it has also energized his base. She explained that whenever people see someone “being bullied,” it tends to energize them. Habba added that she found it ironic that the Left and the media speak out against bullying unless the target is a Republican.

She said now they are trying to bully Trump out of running for office again, adding that they should “keep going” because Donald Trump “does not get intimidated; he gets invigorated.”

During the interview, Habba said Democrats mishandled presidential records as well, claiming that former President Barack Obama removed “30 million pages” from the White House after he left office and moved them “into an abandoned furniture store.”

This allegation had previously been “fact-checked” by the Associated Press which ruled the claim “false.” In its fact-check, the AP said the documents in question were turned over to the National Archives and Records Administration when Obama left office in 2017.

In a statement, the National Archives said the documents, none of which were marked classified, were moved when the Obama Foundation was planning to house them in the Chicago-based Obama presidential library.
