Shaq explained that he preferred to spend his time in the kitchen because of his love for food and in the bedroom for sleep, admitting he never used other parts of the mansion like the gym or the theater. The home, located in Windermere, Florida, was built with his family in mind, but after his divorce from Shaunie Nelson, Shaq described feeling lonely in the sprawling property.
In 2021, the mansion was sold for $11 million, a major discount from its original listing price of $28 million. Despite the stunning features and prime location, the sale marked the end of a three-year process where five different agents attempted to sell the property. Shaq has since moved on but continues to live a relatable, albeit unique, lifestyle compared to his days of living in such a grand estate.
