Russia Will End Ukraine War Under Certain “Conditions”

(FiveNation.com)- Russia has outlined four conditions under which the invasion of Ukraine will end – even as the Russian military struggles to take control of Ukraine despite its vastly larger army.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Petrov said last week that the Russian military will stop its bombardment of Ukraine if Kiev meets four conditions. The Ukrainian government would be required to sign a “neutrality agreement” that bars the country from entering the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, recognizes Crimea as a Russian territory, recognizes two eastern regions of Ukraine as independent (Luhansk and Donetsk), and cease all military action against Russia.

First off, Ukraine would have no need to engage in military action against Russia if Russian President Vladimir Putin told his troops to stand down. Secondly, if Ukraine recognizes Luhansk and Donetsk as independent, then it’s effectively a green light for Russia to take control of those two territories.

“We really are finishing the demilitarization of Ukraine,” Peskov said in a statement to Reuters. “We will finish it. But the main thing is that Ukraine ceases its military action. They should stop their military action and then no one will shoot.”

Should Ukraine agree to those conditions, he said that the war would “stop in a moment.”

In other words, Russia is blackmailing Ukraine and murdering innocent civilians until it finally just gives Russia everything that it wants.

Peskov also insisted that the Ukrainian government should make amendments to their nation’s constitution that would block the country from entering “any bloc.”

Does a defenseless Ukraine sound like a good way for this war to end?
