Michael Cohen Claims Trump Will ‘End Democracy’ at DNC

Donald Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, turned up at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and told reporters he would speak at Kamala Harris campaign rallies if she would let him. Mr. Cohen recently testified against former President Trump during his “hush money” trial in New York and told the jury that Mr. Trump had ordered him to pay adult film star Stormy Daniels to buy her silence about an alleged sexual encounter she had with him. Trump denies the encounter.

Cohen subsequently told the media that he had received death threats from Trump supporters, which he described as “witness intimidation.” At the DNC, he said he fears for America’s future if his former boss is re-elected in November.

The attorney was among several former Trump allies to attend the Chicago DNC, with many speaking out against the Republican and urging GOP voters to back Vice President Kamala Harris. Among these was Stephanie Grisham, who held the White House press secretary post during the Trump administration. Grisham told the convention that she resigned from the administration because of January 6 and a related text message response from Melania Trump. Grisham recounted texting the First Lady to ask if the White House should issue a statement condemning the violence. Melania replied, “No.”

Republican Mayor of Mesa, Arizona, John Giles, also spoke. He said he had chosen country over party and felt more comfortable among Democrats than among MAGA Republicans. He said his party had been “kidnapped” by a Donald Trump “cult.”

Ana Navarro, a former GOP strategist, addressed the convention and condemned Trump for attacking the Vice President as a “communist.” She said it was Mr. Trump who behaved like a communist dictator by attacking the press and expecting to be worshipped by supporters.

The passionate dog lover, who brought her pet ChaCha with her to the conference, said one of the reasons she trusts Kamala Harris is because the Vice President is also a fan of dogs. “Kamala Harris? She likes dogs, and my dog ChaCha likes her,” she said. Ms. Navarro added that America should not elect a President who doesn’t love dogs or who “hangs around with people who shoot them.”
