(FiveNation.com)- Gun-grabbing RINO Senator Lindsey Graham told the Washington Post that he would be “shocked” if former President Donald Trump doesn’t run again in 2024.
Graham pointed to recent polling that shows Trump is the front-runner “by a country mile,” adding that when Trump does finally announce, “it would be a mountain to climb to beat him.”
In 2014, the “frontrunner” in the 2016 Republican field was former Florida Governor Jeb Bush. How’d that work out for him?
Graham said the 2024 race will be a “policy election” and that puts Trump in “good shape.” “It’s his primary to lose,” gun-grabbing Lindsey added.
While Trump has maintained a healthy lead over other possible Republican contenders this early on in the game, overall, his support has been gradually slipping as Republicans like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis begin to gradually pick up steam.
In addition to Ron DeSantis, the candidates reviewed by the Washington Post included former Vice President Mike Pence, Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, former NJ Governor Chris Christie (LOL!), Maryland Governor Larry Hogan (ROTFLOL!!), and Senators Tim Scott, Ted Cruz, and Rick Scott.
Trump pollster Tony Fabrizio complained to the Washington Post that it doesn’t say much about their loyalty that these Republicans would run against Trump.
What now?!
So, out of loyalty to Trump, no other Republican should run in 2024? Is that what Fabrizio expects?
That’s absurd.
It does a disservice to voters and to Trump himself for every other candidate to steer clear and give Trump an unopposed shot at the nomination. Primaries hone the candidate and prepare the eventual nominee for the general election.
Former Trump transition adviser Darren Blanton told the Washington Post that the only prospective candidate on the Post’s list that stands a chance against Donald Trump is Governor DeSantis.
Blanton said Trump and DeSantis are the only two Republicans that have “a chance in hell” in 2024. He said he didn’t think “a pasty, old-school, dignified Republican” is ever going to get nominated again.
