“Libs Of TikTok” Account Hits 1,000,000 Followers

(FiveNation.com)- One million Twitter users have now followed the famous “Libs of TikTok” Twitter account, whose owner was the subject of national controversy for almost a week.
Known for reposting videos of extreme left-wing activists on TikTok and other social media platforms, their Twitter account hit the one million follower mark on Tuesday afternoon.
Twitter user and Washington Post writer Taylor Lorenz (who attempted to have LIbs of Tik Tok “canceled”) was tagged in a post with a snapshot of the Libs of Tik Tok follower count.
The text sarcastically thanked Taylor Lorenz and the Washington Post for contributing to a significant milestone in their career.
The post asked if anyone knew the address @washingtonpost so a thank you card could be sent.
Twitter users reacted to the tweet, with many offering words of congratulations and several pointing out that the account’s rapid follower growth is an example of the “Streisand effect,” where an attempt to censor someone instead draws more attention to that person.
Lorenz published the article, which was supposed to destroy Libs of Tik Tok, in the Washington Post. Critics accused her of “doxxing” the woman who runs Libs of TikTok.
Lorenz claimed that the account has a profound and far-reaching impact on discourse and plays a role in “shaping right-wing media. She felt it impacted anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and influenced millions by posting viral videos aimed at inciting outrage among the right. For these reasons, she felt she was justified for doing what she does – being a thuggish enforcer for the left while pretending to be a “journalist.”

The Libs of Tik Tok account owner said she was inundated with death threats from left-wingers. She subsequently posted on Twitter that she was holed up in a safe location.
Lorenz was also harshly criticized for inadvertently directing threats to another woman with the same name as the Libs of TikTok owner. She also showed up at the homes of the woman’s family members.
Avi Yemini, Rebel News Australia reporter, tweeted-
“Last week @libsoftiktok had 600k followers and was on the verge of permanent suspension when @TaylorLorenz doxxed the owner for being “too large and directing public discourse.” Now it has 1M followers thanks to the article and is here to stay thanks to Elon Musk. Delicious.”
Yes. Delicious.
