Illegal Immigrants Arrested After Fatal Car Crash

A deadly drunk-driving crash in Texas involving illegal immigrants has brought immigrant crime back into the spotlight.

At a glance:

• Cesar Ramirez Castro, 25, an illegal immigrant, faces intoxication manslaughter charges after a deadly crash in Arlington, Texas

• The crash resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man when Castro’s Ford F-150 collided with a parked vehicle and concrete barrier

• Two other illegal immigrants in the vehicle, Marcelino Ramirez-Ramirez, 30, and Daniel Castro Zammarron, 24, were arrested for public intoxication

• All three men have immigration holds placed on them following their arrests

• This incident follows a separate case where an illegal immigrant from Honduras was charged with capital murder in Georgia after being previously caught and released

Deadly Crash Reveals Border Policy Failures

The tragic crash in Arlington has exposed yet another deadly consequence of America’s porous southern border under the Biden administration. Cesar Ramirez Castro now faces serious charges including intoxication manslaughter and collision involving death after his vehicle crashed and erupted into flames, killing an innocent 22-year-old victim.

Immigration holds have been placed on all three men involved, confirming their illegal status in the country.

This incident is not isolated, and numerous similar tragedies have unfolded across the nation with alarming frequency. Just weeks ago in Georgia, another illegal immigrant, David Hector Rivas-Sagastume, was charged with capital murder in an unrelated case. Rivas-Sagastume is charged with killing Georgia grandmother Camilla Williams and dumping her body in a forest. His deportation was ordered in 2023.

Catch and Release Policies Under Fire

The Texas crash has reinvigorated criticism of the Biden administration’s immigration practices and the continued damage to America. Rivas-Sagastume had previously been caught at the border and released under Biden policies, with a removal hearing scheduled for 2023 that never took place.

The Arlington crash comes amid a broader pattern of vehicular incidents involving illegal immigrants. For instance, in 2021, at least 10 people died in a van crash in South Texas when a vehicle carrying more than two dozen suspected migrants crashed about 80 miles north of the Mexico border.

Growing Calls for Immigration Reform

The three men involved in the Arlington crash remain in custody with immigration holds, meaning they can’t be released on bond due to their illegal status. These cases, and others, prompted Donald Trump to promise an immigration crackdown and mass deportation in the run-up to last year’s election. Following his victory, he stayed true to that promise and thousands have been removed from the US.
