(FiveNation.com)- President Joe Biden has long insisted that his son, Hunter Biden, has never engaged in illegal, unethical, or questionable activity – at least, when it comes to his foreign business dealings. But more than 20 House Republicans are calling on the president to be more honest about his son, and on the president’s nominee to head up the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to investigate Hunter Biden after allegedly falsifying information to illegally purchase a handgun.
In a letter to David Chipman, President Biden’s nominee to head up the ATF, Rep. Bob Good request a public commitment to investigate the young Biden after news reports revealed that he illegally purchased a firearm that his then-girlfriend, Hallie Biden – who was also the wife of his deceased brother – threw into a public trash can near a school.
“I write to ask that you publicly commit to investigate allegations that Hunter Biden falsified information during a background check in order to illegally obtain a firearm should you be confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives,” he said.
Thank you to my colleagues who joined me in calling on Biden's Director ATF nominee to commit to investigating allegations that Hunter Biden falsified information during a background check in order to illegally obtain a firearm. https://t.co/rme34OD49V

The letter was signed by 23 other House Republicans – meaning that President Biden and the Democrats are likely to completely ignore it.
Just like they ignored Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the shocking contents of that laptop which were revealed by the New York Post in the final weeks of the presidential election.
The latest letter adds that lying on a background check is a felony, meaning that the “allegation merits an investigation.”
Hunter Biden has long faced questions about his inconsistent claims about prior drug use. The contents of the laptop he abandoned at a Delaware computer repair store, reported by the New York Times, show that Hunter Biden would regularly engage in illegal activity, including smoking crack cocaine and other drugs, and also hiring prostitutes.
However, the young Biden has repeatedly refused to admit that the laptop belongs to him.
Politico also revealed last month that Hunter Biden purchased a .38-caliber revolver in Delaware on October 12, 2018. On the paperwork he signed to obtain the gun, Biden checked “no” on a question asking him if he is an “unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?”
As The Daily Signal notes, federal law defines an unlawful user of substances as “any person who is a current user of a controlled substance” and that the use of drugs is “not limited to the use of drugs on a particular day, or within a matter of days or weeks before.” It simply means that the use of drugs was “recently enough to indicate that the individual is actively engaged in such conduct.”
It kind of sounds like Hunter Biden might have lied to obtain a gun…right?
