Court Orders Asset Seizure
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s legal troubles have escalated as a federal judge orders the seizure of his assets to satisfy a $148 million defamation judgment. U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman mandated Giuliani to turn over his $5 million Manhattan apartment, a 1980 Mercedes, and 26 luxury watches to two former Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss.
The judgment stems from Giuliani’s false accusations of ballot fraud against Freeman and Moss during the 2020 election. Despite the court order, Giuliani has yet to comply, leading to further legal action to enforce the judgment.

Giuliani’s Response and Legal Strategy
Giuliani, who recently voted in Florida, maintains his innocence and believes the judgment will be overturned. “It will probably be one of the most unfair trials in American history, with the exception of the J6 people,” Giuliani said.
His legal team has filed an appeal in a federal appeals court in Washington, expressing confidence in a favorable outcome. “Stay tuned. When the judgment is reversed in the Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C., these Plaintiffs will be required to return all this property to Mr. Giuliani. We repeat, stay tuned,” stated Giuliani’s lawyers, Kenneth Caruso and David Labkowski.
Impact on Giuliani’s Assets
The court order requires Giuliani to relinquish significant personal property, including his Manhattan apartment, luxury watches, and other valuable items. However, he is currently allowed to retain his Florida condominium and three New York Yankees World Series rings due to ongoing litigation.
Giuliani’s legal defense fund has been soliciting donations, claiming that the “Deep State plans to utterly ruin me.” This plea for support highlights the significant financial and personal toll the judgment has taken on the former mayor.
Next Steps in the Legal Process
Judge Liman has set a deadline for a status report on property exchanges and scheduled a status conference for November 7 if the assets are not turned over. The court has appointed Freeman and Moss as “receivers,” allowing them to take possession and sell Giuliani’s assets, with proceeds going into a trust account.
“We are proud that our clients will finally begin to receive some of the compensation to which they are entitled for Giuliani’s actions. This outcome should send a powerful message that there is a price to pay for those who choose to intentionally spread disinformation,” Aaron Nathan, a lawyer for Freeman and Moss said.
