Ghislaine Maxwell Trial Delayed

( The trial of British socialite and former partner of dead billionaire and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, has reportedly been delayed by a federal Manhattan judge.

Her trial, which will focus on her alleged role in trafficking young women and underage girls for sex with Epstein, was initially planned for July 12 – but her attorneys contested the date after she received a superseding indictment in March. The lawyers claimed that the timing from the government was “obvious tactical gamesmanship,” and said that they need more than three months to prepare maxwell for the defense.

Prosecutors – the state – opposed the delay, however.

How much time does Maxwell need to prepare for her defense if she really is innocent as she claims?

Judge Alison Nathan, overseeing the case, said that she had considered the request from the defense and has since ordered all parties involved to confer and decide on new proposed dates for later this fall.

In her ruling, the judge said that the Court “concludes that the interests of justice justify granting a short continuance.”

“Such an adjournment would plainly give the defense team sufficient time to prepare for trial in light of the additional charges contained in the S2 indictment while also ensuring that the trial proceeds without undue delay.”

This will, according to the judge, be the final delay in the case, meaning it will go ahead this fall without any further complications.

However, in that time, we may well see further requests from Maxwell’s team for bail. The disgraced British socialite, who stands accused of helping Epstein traffic and groom girls as young as 14 between 2001 and 2004, has repeatedly requested bail only to be denied over concerns that she may flee the country.

The trial, when it happens, is expected to last roughly four weeks, according to the prosecution. After it takes place, she will face a second criminal trial relating to perjury charges.

Meanwhile, Maxwell’s family have set up a website insisting that she is innocent, attempting to show the world the “real” Ghislaine Maxwell.

It sounds like people might not want to know the “real” Maxwell…
