Georgia Democrats Mock Christians Over Abortion Debate

Democrats in Georgia are once again fighting against pro-life legislation by mocking religious values. A new bill seeking to categorize abortion as murder unleashed passionate debate in the state legislature, with Christians defending the unborn while leftist lawmakers ridiculed God.

At a glance:

• Georgia House Bill 441 would extend legal protections to preborn babies, effectively treating abortion as murder

• Democratic Rep. Dar’shun Kendrick openly mocked God during a hearing, writing “Your God is NOT everyone’s God!” on a note

• The bill would ban abortions from fertilization to birth with exceptions only for spontaneous miscarriages and life-saving procedures

• Georgia has seen abortions increase from 41,000 in 2019 to an estimated 52,000 in 2024

• The hearing became so crowded that state troopers had to clear the room due to overwhelming public interest

Democrats Mock God While Defending Abortion

Georgia’s Republican-led effort to protect unborn children through House Bill 441 has revealed just how far Democrats will go to defend abortion. The proposed Prenatal Equal Protection Act would apply the same legal protections to babies in the womb as those already born, effectively abolishing abortion in the state.

During a heated hearing by the Georgia House Non-Civil Judiciary Committee, Democratic State Rep. Dar’shun Kendrick openly mocked religious beliefs. Kendrick wrote “America and Georgia are NOT A THEOCRACY!!!” and “Your God is NOT everyone’s God!” on a handwritten note. Critics accused Kendrick of openly deriding the Christian values that many Georgians hold dear.

Protecting Life From Conception

The bill’s sponsor, Republican Rep. Emory Dunahoo of Gillsville, stood firm in his commitment to protecting unborn children. “Tens of thousands of babies made in the image of God continue to be murdered in our state every year,” Dunahoo declared during.

“This bill simply ensures that those same laws protecting the lives of people after birth equally protect the lives of people before birth,” Dunahoo further explained. The legislation was introduced after Georgia saw a shocking increase in abortions despite the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade nearly three years ago.

It would grant personhood status to embryos at fertilization and make intentionally terminating a pregnancy equivalent to murder. It includes exceptions for spontaneous miscarriages, coerced abortions, and life-saving procedures for the mother, but not for rape or incest.

Overwhelming Public Interest

The bill hearing drew such large crowds that state troopers had to intervene. “We’re going to get everybody to step out. There’s way too many people in here,” troopers announced as they cleared the overcrowded chamber.

Christian ministers and pro-life advocates came out in force to support the bill, citing their religious beliefs and the sanctity of human life. They stressed that abortion rates in Georgia have actually increased from 41,000 in 2019 to an estimated 52,000 in 2024, and argued that stronger protections are therefore necessary.
