Dolly Parton Given $100,000,000 By Jeff Bezos As A Reward

(FiveNation.com)- Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos gifted legendary country star Dolly Parton $100 million, according to The Daily Wire. Parton was the 2022 Courage and Charities Award recipient, who was chosen by Bezos with the intention that that money will be used to help others.

Bezos reasoning for choosing Parton this year was that she “leads with her heart.” Bezos tweeted that he was confident she “will put this $100 million award to great use helping so many people,” before adding that she joins CNN’s Van Jones and Chef Jose Andreas.

Bezos’ tweet is accompanied by a video where he expresses similar sentiments on stage and invites Parton up to receive the gift. Parton thanked the billionaire and promised to do her best with the money.

“I try to put my money where my heart is and I think you do the same thing,” Parton told Bezos.

Parton has reportedly been a philanthropist for many years now, recently donating $1 million to COVID research. She also began the Dollywood Foundation, donating books to children across the U.S. and internationally.

Earlier this year, Dollywood Parks and Resorts announced that their 11,000 employees, whether seasonal, part-time, or full-time, are eligible to receive up to 100% funding for books, tuition, and fees associated with schooling if they wish to further their education, according to the outlet.

The country star made it into the 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class this spring after initially requesting her name taken off the ballot. Parton reportedly rejected being inducted because she allegedly felt that she was not in that kind of business and would be taking away from others who worked hard to get there.

Regardless, she expressed that she was “honored.”

“Well, I guess I’m a rock star now,” she said.
