In 1997, a human skull was discovered and later confirmed through DNA analysis to belong to Teresa Peroni. The breakthrough came on June 27, 2025, when a grand jury indicted Mark Sanfratello for murder, largely bolstered by DNA results and witness accounts from those connected to Peroni’s past.
