The U.S. Department of Education has reportedly spent a staggering $1 billion on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in schools – and they never once asked you if you’d be OK with it.

The news comes from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a new governmental agency founded by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.

The breakdown of this enormous expenditure is equally alarming. Nearly half a billion dollars—$489,883,797 to be exact—was allocated for “race-based hiring.” Another $343,337,286 went into “DEI programming,” while $169,301,221 was earmarked for “DEI mental health initiatives.” These figures, cited from Parents Defending Education, a grassroots organization fighting against activist agendas in schools, paint a disturbing picture of how our tax dollars are being misused.

The specifics of how this money is being spent are even more concerning. For instance, $4 million was granted for a “culturally responsive” computer science summer camp. The University of Iowa received $1,261,718 for training teachers in equity-centered education. Meanwhile, the University of Missouri – St. Louis got $306,209 for training school counselors in Trauma-Informed, Antiracist Social-Emotional Learning.

But this will all be coming to an end soon, with the president-elect promising to end racism in government spending and the schooling system immediately.

“On day one, I will sign a new executive order to cut federal funding for any school pushing Critical Race Theory, transgender insanity, and other inappropriate racial, sexual, or political content on our children,” Trump said.

Perhaps most egregious among the recent revelations is the $3,973,175 allocated to the School District of Philadelphia for a restorative justice program. These are not isolated incidents but part of a larger trend. Since 2021, a total of $1,002,522,304.81 in grant money has been awarded for DEI initiatives. This is your hard-earned money being used to push a radical leftist agenda in our schools, rather than focusing on core academic skills our children desperately need.

Americans are just about ready to say goodbye to this nonsense.

A recent survey from the Economist/YouGov indicates that 55 percent of Americans believe Trump will follow through on his promise to cut federal funding for schools teaching CRT. This shows a growing awareness and concern among the public about the infiltration of radical ideologies in our education system.
